I volunteered at Edinboro VFD from 1987 - 1991, and it was a wonderful experience. I most recently served as the EMS Assistant Dean at Northern Virginia Community College, and now serve as EMS Faculty at Seminole State College in Florida.

Just wanted to say hello and wish all of you the best this Holiday Season!

Hello fellas, Just to let you guys know we would be in the area again in September of 2014 Meadville is hosting the state firemens convention again. Hopefully we get to stop by again!

I was a member of EVFD from 1994 to 1998 when I was a student at Edinboro University. I am proud to say it was the most professional organization I have ever been involved with. In the short time I learned a great deal and value to this day. I have so many great memories and made a lot of good friends. Your company shows the true meaning of the word "Brotherhood". All though I ran mostly with the fire side, I have to say at the "Boro" is where I became interested in EMS. I have been an EMT since 1999 and currently run with Centre Lifelink EMS in State College PA.
I was and will always be proud and honored to be involved with the Edinboro Volunteer Fire Dept. Im hoping to make it north to an open house or Home coming very shortly.
As always be safe brothers and keep up the awesome job you have always done.

I was a member in the Edinboro Fire Dept for a short time from 2003-2004. Edinboro helped me get my first responder and essentials of firefighting. Since then, I moved back home got my EMT and other courses in fire service. Now, I am a member of the Youngwood Fire Dept. (www.youngwoodfire.com). It was because of every member in the Edinboro Fire Dept that I got an interest in the fire and EMS services and I plan on visiting again soon. Thank you for the memories that will not be forgotten. Thank you for all you have done, and all you do. Please, keep in touch.

This is an awesome site....I was a member from 84 to 88. I learned many life lessons from the EVFD and the families within the organization...God Bless and be SAFE!!!!

I would like to note that I feel that your assistant chief and your board of directors were absolutely right in requesting that the 911 Coordinator Step down or be disciplined for his actions. Military man or not that was very disrespectful. In regards to Mr. Grossman's ideoligy that the Coordinator firmly believes in a CHAIN of COMMAND. Do they understand that the county is only the Provider of this service, not the My way or the highway ruler of the Emergency services realm.

Eccellent site

This provides an opportunity to finally thank you guys for saving my life. Shortly after escaping NY and the toxic air eight years ago or so I arrived in Edinboro half dead and going downhill. The day after Christmas I was too weak to even reach the phone. My neighbors called and the EVFD ambulance was there in moments, taking me the whole way to St. Vincents. I was in the hospital for three and a half months but, by God, I'm still alive. But if the ambulance crew hadn't been there and willing to sacrifice their time and effort and to do it during the Christmas holidays, my sorry ass would be dead for sure. For every story like mine I'll bet there are a hundred more you don't find out about. You'll all know of only a small fraction of the good you've actually accomplished. How do I thank the people to whom I owe so much, everything really?

My dad was an Edinboro Fire Department member for 30 years. He loved the FD. He passed away last summer and have been going through lots of pictures. Found a bunch from the old days. Everything from pictures of many of the old fire trucks to the water battles to all of the members dad served with. Anyone interested in them just let me know.

Thanks for the memories

I will probably be joining the search and rescue unit of Douglas County, Colorado. They have many members because their territory/district is very large and they have calls almost every day of the year. I will also be joining the Douglas County volunteer group for trail maintenance in our county.

Sure do miss the heavy snows but not the cold weather in Edinboro.

Still running and am looking forward to running 50k and 50 mile trail ultras once I get used to the 6700 foot altitude we live in here in Larkspur.

I used to be on the EVFD back in about 1984 Last name at the time was Sibbald and I was on the dept with a friend of mine Doug Swift. Who now lives out in Las Vegas

I have an interest in learning more about the volunteer fire department. An orientation of some kind? Do you offer CPR classes? I've always wanted to have that skill set/knowledge.

Your "Chief" is a former student of my dad's a few years back. He is Dr. Gary Christiansen. And, he tells me I should send along the fund drive donation he has given me.

Thanks for all your help on call 4-2-09, great job. The father said Eric is doing pretty good and will be in ICU for about three days. Its a good feeling that i can be at work and 60 and friendship depts can get it done no matter what type of call it is thanks again. Chief 600.
